First 2014 Commitment

Jamion Christian has done it again. The new Mount St. Mary's head coach has landed another verbal commitment, this time for an incoming 2014 power forward.

Handley (VA)'s Cameron Jackson committed to the Blue and White earlier today. The 6-7 rising junior plays his AAU basketball with Virginia Elite. Marcus Helton tweeted the news earlier. Jackson becomes the first commitment of the 2014 class.

We look forward to watching Jackson, who was recently called one of the best Power Forwards ever in the VA Elite program on a VA Elite tweet, develop over the next several years.

We'll have more information as it becomes available.

Northeastern's Nwandu commits to Mount St. Mary's - GameTimePA.com

Northeastern's Nwandu commits to Mount St. Mary's - GameTimePA.com:

Story on new Mountie Khalid Nwandu. Verifies that he had previously visited and Virginia Commonwealth and had a visit lined up for East Carolina.

I think his style of play will end up fitting in very nicely with the style that Coach Christian is going to bring.

PBC Summer Pro-Am: Lamar Patterson Crashes Steven Adams And Trey Zeigler Debuts - SB Nation Pittsburgh

PBC Summer Pro-Am: Lamar Patterson Crashes Steven Adams And Trey Zeigler Debuts - SB Nation Pittsburgh: "-Robert Morris freshman Stephan Hawkins also took the same approach as Colter in his game, as the forward was not afraid to go toe-to-toe with veteran players such as Pitt's Dante Taylor. Although Hawkins could stand to put on some more muscle, he should be a serviceable player in the NEC."

Gazette.Net: McNamara guard searching for exposure:

With the commitment earlier this week, I'm not sure if Jiggetts scholarship offer to the Mount is still on the table. But here is a nice article about him and a little bit closer look into what's important in recruiting.

Some video selections of New Mountie Khlalid Nwandu

I like what I see in these videos from commitment Khladid Nwandu, the 6-2 guard from Northeastern York, PA who we announced committed yesterday.

To me he's a true combo guard - who can probably swing between the 1 and the 2 at this level. He has great athleticism, can defend in the open floor and really seems to have a good idea of where his teammates are offensively. Ho can score both through the lane and from behind the arc.

Welcome aboard Khalid.

Ranking the coaching jobs: The Others - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

Ranking the coaching jobs: The Others - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN: "Northeast
Best: Quinnipiac -- The Q still hasn't made an NCAA tournament, but its arena/financial backing has no equal in the NEC -- and it's not even close.
Worst: Bryant -- Fairleigh Dickinson garnered plenty of "support" here, but Bryant is just too new and too unproven to be anywhere but last at the moment.
